I had heard about Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant years ago but never got around to trying it until recently.  I love food that has robust and multi-faceted flavours, and Turkish food, it seems, falls in this category too.  The food is a reflection of it’s geographical location.  The flavours are a blend of Greek […]

I don’t care, this counts towards my red meat quota however questionable the nutrient content is supposed to be! On an arguably healthier note, this braised duck at Tanglin Halt Market is absolutely delish! Also, beef stroganoff from Swensons, which was totally lacking in vegetables, but tasty nonetheless.

Just opposite Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) there is a nondescript coffeeshop called Sin Mee Eating House with a few poorly lit stalls.  One of them is Bee Kia Seafood Restaurant, and they sell a very tasty beef hor fan (like a wider kway teow).  I was recommended this beef hor fan by my cousin, and I went to […]

Been keeping up the red meat intake. Day 2: Burger from District 10 @ UE Square.  I love this place for its weekend bouncy castles.  It’s one of the few places around that you can truly enjoy your meal while the kids are entertained for hours on end.  We held Ellery’s 3rd birthday here in […]

Went for a gynae appointment today and was told that I have a low iron count.  Doc says I need to eat more red meat.  I ask how many times a week, and she says “everyday!” So here’s today’s red meat lunch – burger from Huber’s Bistro @ Dempsey.  While the meat was well…er…meaty – […]

Some stories attract you by their title alone. You just know it’s going be a good story. You just know you’re going to like it. And it certainly helps when the author is known for writing charming tales with memorable characters. The Incredible Book Eating Boy by Oliver Jeffers is definitely one such story. I knew […]
